Thanks to the work of an external developer, there is already a MIUI theme for some Xiaomi mobiles that can play with the notification animations in such a way as to imitate the dynamic island of the iPhone 14 Pro. The software has already been accepted, so anyone can download it from the MIUI theme store and try it out on their phone by searching for the name “怪脾气UI”. At the same time, several people on Twitter write that a Chinese ROM must be running on the phone in order to find and install dynamic theming.

In the shared video, the function also works around the hole-punched camera in the center on the Xiaomi 12, and with the hole-punched camera in the left corner on the Mi 11. True, for now it only handles notifications and a music player. The phones shown in the video only have a small dot on the front panel, while the iPhone also has a pill for the Face ID sensors, so there aren’t that many hardware elements to hide.

In addition, it is worth mentioning that in the Android world there are already things similar to the dynamic island: floating notifications on Samsung, blacking out the entire upper status bar containing the camera, floating windows, but we can also mention the LG V10 or V20, which were released seven and five years ago a second display was hidden in the upper part of the frame, essentially with the full functionality of the Dynamic Island.
