‘Dune: Part 2’ – New photos with the first look at Léa Seydoux, Austin Butler and Florence Pugh

Says Denis Villeneuve that Dunes: Part 2 It will be the main course after the appetizer that was its first part. If we remember that Dune It was one of the most anticipated titles in post-pandemic cinema, taking six Oscars as a tip, that’s a very high bet. Now, Vanity Fair has released new stills from this “war movie epic” (in the director’s words) giving us our first glimpse of some highly anticipated faces.

We talk about Lea Seydoux, Florence Pugh and, above all, of Austin Butler, who plays that Feyd-Rautha Harkonnen whom David Lynch led to the cinema with the stamp of a Sting in metallic egg wrappers. When recreating him for his version, Villeneuve describes him as “the mix of a serial killer sociopath and Mick jagger”.

Following the path of the novel by Frank Herbert, Butler’s character will be the archenemy of Paul Atreides (Timothee Chalamet). Pugh, for his part, gives life to the princess irulan, daughter of the despotic emperor-padishah Shaddam IV (Christopher Walken) and budding historian.

As for Léa Seydoux, she will play Lady Margot Fenring, a relentless agent of the Bene Gesserit, that initiatory order of women to which she also belongs Jessica (Rebecca Ferguson). Since the father of the actress, Michel Seydoux, He was the producer who promoted (unfortunately) the unborn Dune of Alejandro Jodorowski, only Shai-hulud knows what was on her mind during the shoot.

In addition, this consignment of images also includes Chalamet, zendaya like his beloved chani, a Ferguson already converted into a priestess of the town Fremen, Javier Bardem as Stilgar, Dave Bautista as Glossu Rabban and Stellan Skarsgard, wearing lorzas like the always perverse Baron Vladimir Harkonnen.

Filled to the brim with giant worms, palace intrigue, survival in extreme weather and sand, lots and lots of sand, Dunes: Part 2 It is scheduled to be released in the US on November 3.
