Disney + will launch a cheaper version so that no one stops taking advantage of its content

Slowly, Disney+ It has become one of the most talked about and loved streaming platforms by viewers around the world. However, several people are still not part of it, and all due to economic issues. And precisely, with them in mind, the platform will launch a cheaper plan that will allow them to access all its content and original releases.

Through a press release, Kareem Danielpresident of distribution of the company, assured the following: “Expanding access to Disney+ to a broader audience at a lower price is a win for everyone: consumers, advertisers and our creators.. More consumers will be able to access our amazing content. Advertisers will be able to reach a larger audience and our creators will be able to share their amazing work with more fans and more families.”

But why would this plan be cheaper? The answer was also given by the same platform: advertising. That is to say, those who pay for it will have to see a certain type of advertising being filmed.

“Since its launch, advertisers have been clamoring for the opportunity to be a part of Disney+, and not just because there’s a growing demand for more streaming inventory,” said Rita Ferro, Disney’s president of advertising, entertainment distribution and media.

She also added that: “Disney+ with advertising will offer marketers the most premium environment in streaming with our most beloved brands: Disney, Pixar, Star Wars, Marvel and National Geographic. I can’t wait to share more details.”

For now, this new plan will be launched only in the United States, but it is expected that it will later be launched in other countries, including those that are part of Latin America. With this idea, the company wants to have between 230 and 260 million subscribers by 2024.

If everything went as expected by the company, this cheaper plan would start working in North America at the end of 2022, and in other countries in 2023.

As for the price, this has not yet been defined, but it would have to be below US$7.99 per month, which is approximately the cost of your current plan. If so, it would be a lower price compared to those offered by other streaming platforms in the region (between US$8.99 and US$9.99).

Currently, the streaming platform has 129.8 million subscribers. According to these figures and comparisons made with other platforms, Disney + could reach 284 million users in 2026 and become number one in the world.

The launches on the platform do not stop, and for example, this week one of its strongest releases of this year will arrive on the platform: Netan animated feature film made with Pixar.
