For weeks, you can hear rumors that Asus is expanding the ROG Phone product line with new devices, and today the manufacturer officially presented them. THE ROG Phone 6D and 6D Ultimate they are based on similar principles as the ROG Phone 6 and 6 Pro, but the most important difference is the “brain” of the devices, as the 6Ds are designed around the MediaTek Dimensity 9000+, which also includes a redesigned cooling system.

But what is the difference between the 6D and the 6D Ultimate? The amount of available memory and storage space, for example, will be available in the Ultimate 16/512 GB version, while the basic 6D can “only” be upgraded to 16/256 GB. In addition, the Ultimate version has one AeroActive Portal cooling opening on the back, which the phone opens and closes with a motorized solution when the AeroActive Cooler 6 accessory is connected. According to Asus, by physically opening the device body, air can flow more freely in the internal cooling system, where the fan can distribute it more evenly and more efficiently, cooling the phone with greater efficiency, thereby maintaining the chip’s performance for a longer time. What is worth mentioning is that, despite the moving part, they managed to make the housing splash-proof according to the IPX4 standard.

The special accessories that were made for the ROG Phone 6 also fit the ROG Phone 6D, including cases and coolers. The size of the new mobile phones and the location of the display on the back have not changed either, but the 6D has an RGB LED logo only on the back, while the 6D Ultimate has a PMOLED display on the back. On the front, both mobiles offer a 6.78-inch 10-bit OLED display, the refresh rate is maximum at 165 Hz and the phone naturally supports HDR10+. This may all be familiar from the ROG Phone 6.
