Although Apple continues to develop its own modems, they don’t seem to be ready for Apple’s iPhone yet for a while. Instead, Qualcomm is believed to continue supplying 5G chips to both the iPhone and the iPhone 16, reports Macrumors.
According to the information, “iPhone 16” can be equipped with Qualcomm’s not yet released Snapdragon X75 in 2024, which is based on TSMC’s new 4 nm process. All four iPhone 15 models, which are expected to be released in a year, are rumored to get a Snapdragon X70 modem.
That would mean Apple won’t have its own modems until 2025 at the earliest.
