Today’s Pro Max model can turn into Ultra when the iPhone 15 is introduced next year, Bloomberg journalist Mark Gurman states in his Power On newsletter on Sunday.
“Based on Apple’s current pattern, we expect a new design for the iPhone next year, in conjunction with a shift to USB-C and the potential for a new Ultra model to replace the Pro Max,” writes Gurman.

Some rumors have pointed to the fact that only the biggest top model will get a so-called periscope camera next year. Thus, the differences between the iPhone 15 Pro 6.1 inches and a larger iPhone 15 Ultra 6.7 inches would be greater next year, something that can thus be further emphasized with a name change on the largest, most expensive model.
With almost a whole year left until the next iPhone launch, it is appropriate to remind that this is still just speculation that should be taken with a pinch of salt.
