Brazilian actress Alice Braga (God’s city) joined the cast of dark matter, the upcoming sci-fi series on Apple TV+. She will act alongside the protagonist played by Joel Edgerton (Obi-Wan Kenobi) in the role of a psychiatrist named Amanda, but with no further details revealed.
In addition, the project adapting Blake Crouch’s book will feature Jennifer Connelly (Top Gun: Maverick) and Jimmy Simpson (pachinko). The plot of the original work, considered one of the best stories in the genre of the last decade, follows Jason Dessen (Edgerton), a physicist, professor and family man who is thrown into an alternate reality.
The series will follow the protagonist’s efforts to “return to his world amidst the multiverse of lives he could have lived,” according to the synopsis. The attraction’s focus is to explore paths not taken, by showing different directions of the character’s life in multiple scenarios.
