Cyberpunk 2077 1.5, or next-gen if you prefer, has finally arrived after many rumors that have followed one another in recent months . CD Projekt RED announced it in its live streaming on Twitch, which started at 4pm today as expected , and the download is available immediately on all platforms: PC, Xbox One and Series, PlayStation 4 and 5 and even Google Stadia . The amount of news is huge : not only in terms of bug fixes and purely next-gen technologies (such as ray tracing, improved graphics, spatial audio, and so on), but also as improvements to the quality of the game and various key mechanics both in combat both with regard to role playing.
There are new weapons, you can customize the character, there are additional apartments, the gameplay and crowd has been improved and much, much more. It is really difficult to make an all-encompassing summary: just to give you an idea, if you try to print the web page that contains the complete changelog Windows has 25 pages , one and a half of which is dedicated to improving the guide model! We might as well start with the summary issued by CDPR itself.

Let’s put it this way: after having skimmed through the entire changelog and knowing the game well enough , I almost feel like throwing myself off balance and saying that, on paper, it looks like a good “real 1.0 release” . Of course, the actual implementation must be judged, and it is not impossible to assume that, given the enormous amount of news, there are some bugs.
The most interesting novelty on the PC side is perhaps the introduction of an official benchmark tool. It will be interesting to compare the results with my tried and tested routine . On the console side, however, CDPR reports that for PS5 and XSX there are two modes, namely Performance (60 FPS, dynamic resolution up to 4K) and Ray Tracing (30 FPS, dynamic resolution up to 4K). On the Xbox Series S, however, the game is limited to 30 FPS in 1440p QHD. On next-gen consoles it is possible to download a free trial version : in practice, you download the entire full game and you can play it for 5 hours. At the end of the trial you can decide whether to buy the game or cancel it. The progress made in the five hours will be maintained.

The download is very, very large : on PC the “patch” requires 50 GB, on PS5 the installation from scratch requires 100 GB, on PS4 even there around 56 GB. In these early stages the CDPR servers warn that due to the high traffic there may be some difficulty, but for now the download seems to be proceeding at reasonable speeds.
