The Robert Koch Institute has published another functional update with improved displays for booster vaccinations for the Corona warning app. In addition, the option is launched that organizers can independently warn participants if the test results are positive.
These changes start with app updates for iOS and Android via automatic updates and should be available to all users shortly. The new version 2.9 is also available as a download in the app stores. The update includes a number of previously announced features and improvements. There is also an outlook on what the developers are currently working on, because there will soon be a reminder about booster vaccinations.
One of the changes that have now been introduced is that the app now also shows an improved display of the specific vaccination status. For those who are already sick and recovered who are vaccinated after six months, the full vaccination protection is displayed in the Corona warning app even after the first vaccination. The two-week waiting period does not apply to all vaccines except for Johnson & Johnson. In addition, the app should now also display the correct status for booster vaccinations.
Organizers warn directly
The update for events is also particularly interesting. For some time now, events have been created in the app, and a QR code generated for the participants. In the event of a positive corona infection, a change will now be introduced among the participants. Previously, warnings were sent to the app users via the health department, now the organizers can do this themselves. The development team explains how this works in the app blog.
The blog also provides information about further changes in the Corona warning app. In addition to bug fixes, this update offers the following new features:
- As the organizer of an event, you can now, upon request by the health department, warn your guests on behalf of a person who tested positive and who took part in the event but was not checked in via the Corona warning app
- For those who have recovered, the full vaccination protection will now be displayed in the Corona warning app immediately after the first vaccination. The two-week waiting period does not apply to all vaccines except for Johnson & Johnson
