Cheap and 5G phones came under Telekom’s own name

Today, Telekom’s two new, own-brand smartphones were presented simultaneously in nine European countries. There are some differences between AT Phone 5G and T Phone Pro 5G, but the basics are the same, and the goal was apparently to create the cheapest 5G phone pair on the market. At the presentation, they did not forget to emphasize that these devices do not go against their current partners, but complement the existing offers.

AT Phone 5G is not a particularly complicated product, it has a 6.52-inch IPS display with HD resolution, the chipset is an entry-level 5G MediaTek, namely the Dimensity 700, it has a side fingerprint reader, it received IP52 protection against splashing water, it did not stand out the 3.5 mm jack connector, and there are three cameras on the back, but only the main camera is interesting with its 50 megapixel resolution. The other two are for macro and portraits. There is a 4500 mAh battery under the back panel, which can only charge 15 watts, and the service provider does not pack a charging head in the box.

The Pro model is larger: its 6.82-inch display also has HD resolution, here the system uses 6 GB instead of 4 GB of RAM, the battery size is 5000 mAh, and the camera range has been expanded with a 5-megapixel, ultra-wide-angle module. This one already has NFC (therefore, the other one doesn’t), which is really rare that wireless charging was also included. The internal capacity of both devices can be expanded with a microSD (the smaller one has 64 GB and the larger one has 128 GB of internal storage), neither model depends on the service provider and will be available from October 5.

Unlike usual, Telekom has now also announced list prices, HUF 90,200 for the smaller model and HUF 107,800 for the larger model, but based on the service provider’s expectations, these products will be sold with different packages. We will be testing the two devices soon.
