Later, Ezra Spurnrose (Andrew Gower) discovers that it was his ship that sank and sends the fae to be his sister Imogen’s (Tamzin Merchant) handmaiden.

In Burgue, Vignette discovers that Philo (Orlando Bloom), her former lover, has managed to survive and is working as a police investigator. Meanwhile, at Imogen’s house, Ezra attempts to rape Vignette, but the fae manages to assault him in self-defense. Enraged, Ezra accuses Vignette of theft and takes her to the authorities, but luckily, she is saved by Philo, who manages to take care of her case. From there, Vignette starts to blackmail Philo to free her and joins a group of rebellious fairies who carry out various smuggling.

In a flashback, the audience discovers more about Philo and Vignette’s involvement, as well as understanding how Darius (Ariyon Bakare), Philo’s old friend, was bitten, and also how Mima (Jacqueline Boatswain) was responsible for spreading the rumor that Philo had died.

In the present, Philo manages to uncover more clues to the conspiratorial killer that has been haunting the mystical beings of the city. Someone would have created a reanimated golem from several corpses. To defeat him, Philo needs to find his culprit. To search for new leads, Philo returns to the shelter he lived in as a child.

Due to the lack of progress in the case, the police believe that Philo may be linked to the crimes and are suspicious of his actions, even arguing that he himself created the golem to mislead the authorities.

With their own theories, the authorities enact the arrest of Philo, who is still trying to keep his secret about being a mestizo. Sergeant Dombey (Jamie Harris) reveals that he intends to throw Philo to the prisoners to kill him. But Vignette manages to discover the police’s plans and tries to help her former lover. Portia (Maeve Dermody) tries to help Philo, but he reveals to everyone that he is half-fae.

Vignette visits Philo and tries to reconcile with him. Dombey is tasked with guiding the prisoner to trial, even though he intends to kill him. But Berwick (Waj Ali) takes him to a country estate to meet Absalom (Jared Harris), his biological father. There, Philo is tempted by his own father who tries to kill him.

At the end of the season, Philo joins Vignette in a sort of ghetto with other fae. What will happen?

So stay tuned and don’t miss out! The 2nd season of Carnival Row arrives on Amazon Prime Video on February 17th.
