Last week, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever finally made it to the Disney+ catalogue. And it didn’t take long for the acclaimed sequel to break the record for the biggest debut on the streaming service.

According to data from the company itself, with based on movie viewing hours in the first five days, Wakanda Forever is the biggest release of a feature on the platform. With US$ 842 million accumulated, curiously, the sequel made a lower box office than Doctor Strange: Into the Multiverse of Madnesswhich hit $955 billion in theaters.

Despite the resounding success, the Disney does not plan to develop movies of its own for streaming.
