Beyoncé will follow in Taylor Swift’s footsteps and have her own film about the ‘Renaissance’ tour

A couple of weeks ago it was announced an agreement between Taylor Swift and AMC Theaters to bring a film about the tour to the big screen The Eras, filmed during the six concert dates that the singer offered at the SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, in Los Angeles. This feature film will be released on October 13 all over the world and also in Spain, but it will not be the only one starring a music superstar that we will see soon.

As reported Variety, The team of Beyonce was negotiating with the same company as Taylor to launch a film about the tour of Renaissance, the disc dance which he published in July of last year and with which he won four Grammys. AMC would only have to handle distribution, leaving the pop diva 50% of the box office revenue. A few hours after the news came out, the company was already announcing this film on its website, so there seems to be a definitive agreement.

The film will include footage from several concerts on the tour, from the opening date in Stockholm (Sweden) to its closing date in Kansas City (United States). Beyoncé has already shared the official trailer on their social networks.

This film will include scenes about the making of the album and the formation of the tour. It will also focus on the live performances themselves, meaning that we will have unpublished material about his concerts. For now, the release date will be next December 1st.

It is not the first time that Bey has been involved in work of this caliber. In 2019 she released Homecoming in Netflix, a documentary that portrays the intense preparation that the singer had to undergo before her concert in Coachella and that highlights topics such as feminism, the vindication of the African-American community and the value of live performances. The terms of the artist’s relationship with the streaming platform are unknown, but everything indicates that has not been any limit for the agreement with AMC.
