During a panel at the 2022 San Diego Comic Con, Korra’s voice actress Janet Varney confirmed that the first project in the new phase of the franchise will be a film released in 2025.
The story promises to accompany Aang and the characters from the original series living as adults. Still, the film should debut in theaters. Without much other information available so far, the premiere forecast for the feature is October 10, 2025.

Another project scheduled to premiere in 2025 is the new animated series Avatar. This time, the story will take place 100 years after the events of The Legend of Korra. Therefore, thinking about the franchise’s timeline, it is expected that it will take place in the present day.

The animation will focus on introducing a new Avatar, which will be represented by a character who dominates the element of earth. The series is expected to debut shortly after the Aang movie, that is, between November and December 2025.

One of the main antagonists of Aang and Friends in the original series is getting a solo movie. His original voice actor, Dante Basco, will return to voice Zuko.
Although there is not much information regarding the plot and the rest of the cast, the film’s premiere date is October 9, 2026. This news was released by Avatar Newsthe unofficial website of the franchise, but which has already released several accurate news before being officially announced.
Still according to the Avatar News, other projects are being planned by Paramount, which is the company responsible for the franchise. According to the information released on the website, Paramount plans to release two projects (one movie and one series) each year starting in 2025.
Two animated series are already in the studio’s plans, one scheduled for 2026 and the other for 2027. Still, another film is also being produced, scheduled for October 8, 2027. However, none of the three projects had their plot disclosed.
The portal had also announced two more films. One would focus on Korra and the other on Kyoshi. However, it is not yet known whether they will be part of this large project planning or if they will function in some other way.
