Apple has introduced a new generation of AirPods – the AirPods 3. As expected, the new wireless earbuds support Spacial Audio. Also on board: Adaptive EQ, longer battery life, and a new price tag.
AirPods fans immediately notice the changed design of the new AirPods 3. With its curved design, the third generation is more reminiscent of the AirPods Pro than the second-generation AirPods. In addition to the design, Apple has also revised the drivers, which of course should offer a better sound.
In any case, the support of 3D audio is exciting when it comes to sound, simulating a surround sound in harmony with the wearer’s head movements. This feature was previously only available on the AirPods Pro and AirPods Max. In addition, the Adaptive Equalizer is on board, which uses a microphone to adjust the sound to the position of the AirPods 3 in the wearer’s ear.

There are also improvements in the battery life. The in-ears should last for six hours on one charge. With activated 3D audio, it is another five hours, according to Apple. The charging case has enough power for five full charges – and supports wireless charging including MagSafe.
The new AirPods 3 also support the new AAC-ELD codec, which is supposed to offer excellent audio quality even at low bit rates. We are really excited about the first audio sample – and we will let you participate in a test on TechMarkup as soon as possible.
AirPods 3 Price
The new 3rd generation AirPods will be available in Germany from Tuesday, October 26th. The pre-orders start immediately. The recommended Airpods 3 price is 199 euros. The second-generation AirPods remain in the portfolio. Apple reduced the price from 179 to 149 euros.
