While it still tops the US box office with $32.2 million, the comparison to the $104 million raised in the first few days of release lights up a warning sign at the beginning of the fifth phase of the MCU in theaters.

The little hero’s films are already known for having the lowest Marvel revenues. Ant Man (2015), reached $519.3 million at the worldwide box office. Already Ant-Man and the Wasp (2018) raised slightly more, with $622.7 million in total.

It is worth remembering that last year Thor: Love and Thunder It is Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness had already shown significant drops, of 68% and 67% respectively, in their second weekend of collection.

Apparently, interest in superhero movies has been waning. The releases of too many series and films ended up saturating the format, and this is something that Kevin Feige, president of Marvel Studios, has already noticed and is working to improve the situation.

Recently, the studio announced the postponement of The Marvels. The film, which was scheduled for July 2023, has been postponed to November 10 of this year.
