Theories about the broccoli-faced character and Marvel comics abound. The inhabitant of the Quantum Realm featured in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania it’s just one of numerous strange creatures in the movie kicking off Phase 5 of the MCU.
When investigating the origins of being green, there are several similarities between the “broccoli head” and the species that resemble vegetables seen in Marvel comics – as well as mentions in the movies! Understand next.
Broccoli head could be a Cotati
The Cotati are beings with asparagus-like human and plant characteristics. The first appearance in the comics was in The Avengers #1975, 133, created by Steve Englehart and Sal Buscema.
If the broccoli-faced character is a Cotati, it would be the third participation of the species in the Marvel films.
The Cotati have already been mentioned in Guardians of the Galaxy (2014), in the scene where a radio voice demands the sending of seeds from Cotati, and Avengers: Infinity War (2018), when Gamora says that Thor seems to be made of Cotati.
Species R’malk’i is another possibility of inspiration
The R’malk’i are brutal and ambitious characters that were presented in one of Warlock’s comics from 1976. Despite the temperament of this species being more aggressive than the character of Ant-Man 3, it cannot be ruled out as a possible inspiration for the long.
Furthermore, the R’malk’i are part of the cast of cosmic creatures that make up the visual dictionary of Thor the Dark World (2013). How did they get to the Quantum Realm? The doubt is in the air!
Character may be a member of the Lunch Legion
Another possible connection between the green being with multiple eyes and Marvel comics is the Lunch Legion gang.
This group of criminals were introduced to fans by the comic series Marvel’s What The–? in 1988. One of the characters is an anthropomorphic creature with the appearance of broccoli.
