Android 13 is knocking on the door of Xiaomi 11T and Poco F4

Over the weekend, Xiaomi started rolling out the MIUI 14 update to Xiaomi 11T phones globally and Poco F4 phones in Europe to participants in the Mi Pilot program. This is a stable update of MIUI 14 based on Android 13, which also includes the December 2022 security package for the two devices. The MIUI 14.0.3.0 (TKWMIXM) firmware for the 11T, while the MIUI 14.2.0 (TLMEUXM) firmware for the Poco F4 is the one that can be searched for and installed, both smartphones received a 3.5 GB package.

MIUI 14 was first released on the Xiaomi 13 mobile phones in December, and then the Xiaomi 12 also received its update in January. According to the company’s previous promise, in January, the entire 12 and 12S series, the Mix Fold 2, and the Redmi K50 series (and probably the versions released under the Poco brand) are also eligible for the update.

According to Xiaomi, their development team has endowed MIUI 14 with CPU, GPU and memory resource scheduling at the Android kernel level, smaller firmware sizes and reduced memory requirements, which is thus capable of up to 60% more continuous operation than the previous version. There are other new features, such as the system automatically compressing the size of long-unused apps, a switch to turn off notifications, and the fact that only eight pre-installed apps can now be deleted. There are new resizable folders and widgets that can be loaded onto the home screen, including a Tamagotchi-like one in which you can grow a virtual plant or animal.

Supposedly, the file manager will be able to recognize duplicates and merge them, the text recognizer has improved and can now copy captions from gallery images as pasteable text. Several programs will receive end-to-end encryption and there will be an option to store more data on the device by skipping cloud services. In addition, a new type of family sharing has been added to MIUI 14, in which we can share our photos and subscriptions with nine family members, as well as see their fitness data, so far it is questionable whether only the Chinese version or the global version will get it.

THE Gizmochina according to March 2023, these devices already on the market – in parentheses those that have already been released outside of China, but have not been officially sold here – should also indicate that MIUI 14 has arrived:
