On the occasion of the last CES , in January, AMD uncovered the cards regarding the news coming in the course of 2022, also revealing the first details on the Ryzen 7000 CPUs with 5nm Zen4 core (codenamed Raphael), whose arrival was generally set for the second half of the year .

To date, there is still no precise date provided by the company, but a recent report from Digitimes has thought of it , according to which AMD will launch its next processors in September 2022 . Furthermore, it is possible that he will return to talk about it more in depth soon, already on the occasion of Computex 2022 , which will be held from 24 to 27 May in Taipei, Taiwan .

As for the technical characteristics, there is talk of an increase in the CPI of 15% flanked by an optimization of consumption that will go up to 30% .

The lineup will be the first to offer solutions based on TSMC’s 5nm production node, and should also bring native support for DDR5 memories and the PCI-E 5.0 standard (thus catching up on Intel’s Alder Lake-S ). And from the rumors at the end of March it also emerged that the top model, the 16 core / 32 thread model, should have a TDP of 170W .

As for the other options, solutions with TDP of 65W and 105W are expected , and therefore aligned in this respect with the current offer of the Ryzen 5000 Zen 3. AMD itself, again at CES 2022, confirmed the operating frequency of 5 GHz.

Finally, according to Digitimes , the market debut of the Zen4-based Ryxen 7000 should coincide with that of the next-generation RDNA 2 desktop APUs.
