The film is an adaptation of the novel by Nicholas Sparks, already famous for heartbreaking love stories. The plot shows Landon Carter, a teenager punished for having played a bad prank at his school.

As punishment, he is tasked with participating in a school play and meets shy Jamie Sullivan (Mandy Moore). Over time, they fall in love, but everything falls apart when she makes a revelation about herself.

5. The Fault in Our Stars
