For 15 years, Apple has actively fought against AIDS with its (RED) range.

A range that is also responsible for combating the spread of COVID-19.

Apple’s (RED) range in the face of COVID-19

Since 2006, Apple customers have helped raise nearly $ 270 million for prevention, testing, and counseling services for people affected by HIV / AIDS. The American giant explains having widened the scope of action of (RED), in order to come to the aid of the most vulnerable populations affected by COVID-19.

Apple says it was one of the first companies to redirect its support to the Global Fund’s COVID-19 response system. Until December 31, 2022, part of the proceeds from the Apple range (RED) will go to the same Global COVID-19 Response Fund, in order to mitigate the impact of the epidemic in the most vulnerable regions, especially in Africa.

Normally, earnings from Apple’s Product (RED) sales go to the Global Fund to combat HIV/AIDS, but in 2020 and 2021, Apple reallocated 100% of qualifying proceeds to the Global Fund’s COVID-19 program to help health systems in Africa that are endangered by the epidemic.

The funds contributed to the Global Fund from (PRODUCT)RED purchases will be shared until December 31, 2022, according to Apple’s website. Half of the funds will be used to reduce the effects of COVID-19, while the other half will be used to fight HIV/AIDS.
