It looks like magic, but it’s not: the sequence of Abracadraba (hocus pocus in the original title, in English) arrived, after almost 30 years of the first film, but without Dani Dennison, one of the most striking characters of the 1993 feature. Actress Thora Birch, who played the little girl, explained her reasons.
In conversation with Entertainment Tonight, on the red carpet of the event Variety’s Power of Womenthe American actress said she was excited about the opportunity to revive Dani Dennison, but there was a scheduling conflict.

“There were three options we had on how to bring Dani back, all of which I was excited about,” Birch said. However, “when they started filming, I was already on something else,” he continued, explaining that he was working on another project.
Despite his absence, Birch said he is happy with the release of Abracadabra 2. “I’m excited for the fans who have been begging for a sequel for years.” She rounds off the conversation by saying that she will watch the film along with all of them and that the first title has a special place in her heart.
Abracadabra 2 premiered on Disney+ last Friday (30th) and focuses on the terrifying Sanderson sisters, played by the original trio Sarah Jessica Parker, Bette Midler and Kathy Najimy, who are resurrected after 29 years of seclusion and must adapt to present-day Salem.
