ABC of the new way to search Google from Chrome

The browser added shortcuts to make it easier for users to access pages already visited.

Chrome has been adding several new features in recent days and now makes available to users the possibility of having direct access so that the search for pages is much more agile.

With the new filters they are aiming to cut the browsing path into sections like history, favorites, bookmarks and so on. This will allow faster and more direct consultations without having to open the sections of each of these options.

This feature is not available to all users, but it can be enabled through a process that we will explain below.

Search filters in Chrome

To access these functions, such as history and bookmarks, you have to search for them in the panel or execute the command on the keyboard. Now with the filters, users only have to write @history, @favorites, @tab and @bookmarks in the search bar so that the different pages already visited or selected are displayed.

An example of how to benefit from this new tool is if the user has marked a hotel as a favorite and wants to check its availability, with the filter he must put ‘@markers’ in the bar and then the name of the hotel so that the direct link appears or search for it among the options that will be displayed.

But you can also browse tabs by clicking the arrow button in the top right corner of any Chrome window. A search engine will be displayed there to put the related topic and for the browser to find the tabs related to that content, something outstanding for those who usually have several windows open.

This feature has been in development for a few months now and Google is taking it to some users, although it can be activated directly by following these steps:

1. Open Chrome.

2. Put in the search bar: chrome://flags/#organic-repeatable-queries

3. In the selected function change the button to ‘Enabled’.

4. Restart Chrome.

This will be enough so that the filters are already active in the desktop version, since for the mobile device application the process must be done again.

This novelty adds to a large number of changes that Google added recently after releasing version 108 of Chrome, which adds a power saving mode, better emoji quality, improved fonts and more features.

Furthermore, the devices Chromebooks they are receiving Chrome OS 108 they have changes to Wi-Fi connections and a trash folder, apart from the browser ones.
