He AdN University Short Film Festival presents the book XX AdN. The history of the oldest university short film festival in Spain. Edited by Tirant Lo Blanch, it is a tribute in the form of an academic manual to one of the most successful projects in the Nebrija University which, for 20 editions, has encouraged students to put creative, instrumental and personal skills into practice in a space that has become a meeting forum between the Spanish film industry and young creators.

Throughout 17 chapters, the book narrates the beginnings, consolidation and growth of a festival that has become the best showcase to learn about the structural changes of a sector of Spanish youthgiving information about their preferred narrative models and their preference for certain aesthetics and/or themes.

The work begins with the prologue of the president of the Film Academy, Fernando Mendez-Leiteand ends with the epilogue of Felix Pinueladirector of Spanish versiona veteran TVE program that has also supported short films and films in Spanish since its origins.

AdN celebrates XX editions

The publication of the book comes to celebrate the XX editions of the festival that, this year, begins on Thursday, May 11at 7:00 p.m. in the Callao Cinemas in Madrid. Under the organization of teachers and students, a total of 122 short films They have been evaluated by an academic jury and, subsequently, by a professional jury, which determines the winners.

As every year, this cultural event that, since its 18th edition, also looks at the Ibero-American community, being the guest country of this edition Mexicowill deliver the Honor Award awarded to notable figures in the film industry to the director Rodrigo Sorogoyen and the screenwriter isabel penawho have recently worked together on Ace Beasts.

As for the Social Award 2023the AdN Festival wanted to recognize neighborhood cinema and TVE for his educational work and recovery of Spanish cinema. The award will be received by the director of the program, machus osinagaand Valeria Vegas.
