8 female superheroes we still want to see in movies and series

Many might say that the market for superheroes in film and television is a bit saturated. Which would not be a lie, given the number of productions of the genre that have been released in recent years. But the fact is that there are still many interesting heroic figures to be explored in movies and series, especially when it comes to superheroines.

8 – Black Cat (Gata Negra)

Coming from Marvel comics, the character Felicia Hardy, also known as Black Cat, almost won a solo film through Sony after appearing (in her civilian form) in the movie The Amazing Spider-Man 2. However, after considering the idea, the company never spoke about the matter again.

The feline thief was quite successful in the comics and, perhaps, would repeat the dose on screen if Marvel ventured to portray her in a film or series. At least, that’s what we think!

7 – Silver Sable (Silver Saber)

Another fantastic and multifaceted heroine who has not yet made it to film or television is Silver Saber. The girl is a skilled criminal hunter and CEO of the company Silver Sable International. That is, she is divided between being a businesswoman and a feared mercenary.

Leader of a group of assassins called the Wild Pack, Saber de Prata was also considered to have a film of its own, however, the project never went ahead. But, who knows, the idea doesn’t come back, right?

6 – Jessica Cruz

Leaving a little for the DC Comics side, we have the character Jessica Cruz, member of the vast Green Lantern universe. Introduced in the comics in 2016, the heroine won many fans by joining the Green Lantern group and experiencing several adventures.

She was almost certain to participate in the series Green Lantern, from HBO Max, however, his role was put in doubt after the proposed reformulations for the work. However, we believe that the Hispanic girl still deserves a production of her own!

5 – Nubia

The new queen of the amazons is another strong contender to have her own movie or series at DC. Nubia, who has a strong relationship with Diana Prince, the powerful Wonder Woman, has been one of the highlights of the brand’s comics in recent years.

In addition to helping to enrich the representation of black women in audiovisual, a work centered on Nubia would yield great action and adventure scenes, more or less along the lines of what we have already seen in Wonder Woman films.

Have you heard of the character Karen Starr? In DC comics, she gives life to the heroine Power Girl, an alternate version (from another universe) of Supergirl. In her world, she is a member of the Justice Society of America and also has her own adventures on her own.

We still don’t know how she could be introduced in the new DC Cinematographic Universe (DCU), but she would certainly be very welcome in new works or even a solo production, since she has several adventures that can be explored in her narrative. .

3 – Zatanna

Another character much loved by readers of DC comics is Zatanna Zatara, who has already been a member of the Justice Society of America and the Justice League of Darkness. The girl is a magician and sorceress capable of reading minds, hypnotizing people, altering reality, creating force fields, manipulating the elements of nature and, of course, performing enchantments.

In 2018, it was announced that a film about Zatanna was being developed, however, since then, no updates or news have appeared. We hope that the new DCU revives the project and explores the heroine, who would make great screen stories!

2 – Batgirl

The heroine that came closest to having her own project was Batgirl, who had a film in advanced stages set to release on HBO Max. However, due to internal changes at Warner Bros., which merged with Discovery, the work was canceled shortly before reaching streaming.

Despite the situation, the character Barbara Gordon still deserves a solo production that does justice to her incredible adventures in Gotham.

1 – Dazzler

Finally, we have a Marvel heroine that, perhaps, many do not remember, but that would yield a great audiovisual adaptation. We’re talking about Alison Blaire, aka Dazzler. The heroine is a pop star who acquired powers and was even part of the X-Men for a while.

Have you ever imagined a pop diva with super powers fighting villains out there? Well, we already have, so we’d love to see a solo project from Dazzler!
