The Xiaomi 12 has not even been announced and there are already the first leaks. The focus is primarily on the premium versions of the next Xiaomi flagship – Xiaomi 12 Ultra and Xiaomi 12 Ultra Enhanced. Does Xiaomi dare to use 200 MP in Mi Phone and the Snapdragon 898?
- Xiaomi 12 Ultra and Xiaomi 12 Ultra Enhanced Codes Leaked
- Leak reveals details of the technical data
- The smartphones may never be launched in Europe
The Xiaomi 12 is not expected until December in China and probably a month or two later in Europe. As with the Xiaomi Mi 11 and Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra from last year, two models are allegedly planned to be launched separately: the Xiaomi 12 and the Xiaomi 12 Ultra.
But the website specialized in Xiaomi Xiaomiui explains in an article dated Nov. 16 that it found pieces of code that confirm the existence of a third model called the Xiaomi 12 Ultra Enhanced. It should be based on the same ROM and the same source code as the 12 Ultra. The two Ultra models of the Xiaomi 12 are codenamed Thor and Loki, like Xiaomiui reported.
The site explains that both smartphones are powered by a Snapdragon 898 (Snapdragon 8 Gen 1), just like the base model, the Xiaomi 12. As for the camera module, the Xiaomi 12 Ultra range will either be a 50 MP Main lens based on the Samsung GN5 sensor or a 200 MP lens with a Samsung Isocell HP1 sensor, as in the Galaxy S22. At this point in time, however, this is also speculation.
In addition to the main camera, both devices have at least three additional 48 MP lenses, including a telephoto lens with 10x zoom. Another leak suggests that Xiaomi has entered into a partnership with Leica for its upcoming Xiaomi 12 Ultra.
There is a possibility that the Xiaomi 12 Ultra range will only be available in the Chinese market. If – as with the Mi 11 Ultra last year – there is a start in Germany, this will not happen before the second quarter of 2022.
What do you think of the information leaked? The Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra was pretty compelling last year, although it lacked sophistication and build quality. Do you think that we will get the “enhanced” model in this country? Let me know in the comments!
